Measure the essential or fragrance oil and set aside in a tightly sealed container. Use two saucepans - one for the oil mixture and one for the water mixture. Heat both mixtures to 165øF. Be sure that the borax dissolves completely into the water and that the beeswax fully melts from the heat of the oils. Monitor the temperature to avoid overheating.

Pour the oil mixture into the mixing bowl. Using a freestanding electric mixer with a spash-guard, and set at the lowestspeed, slowly drizzle the water mixture into teh oils. Continue to blend on low until the mixture thickens slightly, scraping any solid or liquid buildup that clings to the sides of the bowl back into the cream. When it has thickened just enough to tolerate a faster stir without splashing wildly, increase the mixer speed to setting 2 (the cream is still pretty watery). When it thickens further (this takes about 10 to 15 mintues), scrape the sides of the bowl again and increase the speed to setting 3. Continue beating until cream is the consistency of mayonnaise.

Once the mixture is uniform and is has begun to cool (the mixing bowl should feel not hotter than lukewarm), add the essential oil and continue beating to fully incorporate the scent. At this point of production, a fast stir (setting 3 or 4) is critical for a perfectly creamy blend.

When the cream is smooth and cold, pour into jars, rewhipping cream in bowl with a hand-held whisk after every four jars to ensure mixture is uniform. For "Light & Loose" formula, first pour into a covered container, allow to rest for at least six hours, and rewhip in mixer at fast speed for two minutes until it forms rich, soft peaks, then spoon into jars.
